About Me

Hello! My name is Karolina Rak. I am a recent engineering graduate (May 2022) of the University of Michigan with an M.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in thermal and fluid sciences.

I am currently employed at SpaceX in Seattle as a Thermal Engineer working on Starlink Satellites. I hope to use the experience I gain to pursue a career surrounding renewable energy engineering development or distribution.

Due to the proprietary nature of work I have completed at various internships this portfolio will focus on projects I have completed in my graduate/undergraduate studies, in my undergraduate engineering project team Autonomous Robotic Vehicle (UMARV), and some personal projects. Details of projects I have been involved in as well as previous work experience are located in my resume under the resume tab.

Recent News:

In the summer of 2021 I participated in the Department of Energy's Seeding Water Power Innovation: An R&D Showcase (link). The presentation centered around a novel Wave Energy Converter concept that I was working on during my internship at NREL.
